ABOUT HU’S ART
Founding Background
Founded in 2005 by curator Sean C. S. Hu, Hu’s Art Co., Ltd. focuses on the research,
execution, and promotion in fields from curation of contemporary art, urban aesthetics,
public art, to crossover of brands and cultures.
Regarding the research and curation of art exhibitions, Hu’s Art pays careful attention
to the development and changes of the society and culture in Taiwan and around the world,
combining specific issues with art and aesthetics in the exhibitions. Presenting multiple
thoughts and viewpoints, these exhibitions invite visitors to find out the various aspects and
possibilities of art.
In terms of urban aesthetics and public art projects, Hu’s Art utilizes the thriving creativity in
contemporary art, exploring the corners and heterotopias scattered in the cities with temporary
or permanent art works. Through attempts of communicating and interacting with the viewers,
Hu’s Art further shapes the impressions and public aesthetics of the cities that are exclusively
for this generation.
Hu’s Art also designs public activities deriving from its on-going projects. By engaging the public
in the art projects via publications, video recordings, workshops, lectures and guided tours, Hu’s
Art successfully enhances the visitors’ experience in appreciating and learning about art.
Hu’s Art aims to connect Taiwan with the world via all kinds of art projects. It also aims to facilitate
the interaction between artists, curators and administrators from different cultural backgrounds,
meanwhile exploring cultural horizons, professional skills, and possibility for collaborations for one
another. With these visions, Hu’s Art is dedicated to presenting Taiwan’s unique art style and
vocabulary in the midst of global cultural trends.
