Introduction

In order to preserve the Hakka heritage, the “2007 Taiwan Hakka Exposition” was held in Kaohsiung on December 21st, 2007 to January 19th, 2008.  The event was divided into the following seven categories:

1. Humanity and Culture History: Including Hakka culture, history, origin, and diaspora…

2. Hakka Theater: Hakka theater and music

3. Hakka Library: Books and stories

4. Playful Market: Hakka specialties

5. Tasty Kitchen: Traditional Hakka cuisines, innovative new tastes and snacks

6. Art Workshop: Hakka crafts DIY, Hakka installation art competition

7. Photo Exhibition

Through various events, the 2007 Taiwan-Hakka Exposition was able to let more people learn about Hakka and to demonstrate fully the true Hakka hospitality.
