Introduction

“Breathing Deeply” is based on the fact that the world considers Taiwan to be important because of its high tech industry. Another area of interest is the way in which the local residents have responded to strange and diverse global trends by gradually evolving a special situation with regards to collective existential value and sensitivity to nihilistic concerns. The exhibition is then an attempt to use new media art infused with Taiwanese characteristics to extend and reveal human attitudes towards “existence” – a philosophical concept that is as classical as it is modern.
