Introduction

Amidst the city jungle’s hustles and bustles and the technology-based life full of correspondences between the virtual and the real, Transcendence of Illusion is an exhibition that embarks from classical aesthetic concepts, and through new approaches for interaction, participation, materials, concepts, and forms, an attempt is made to conduct further exploration and research for today’s new aestheticism. Following are the eight contributing artists of this exhibition, Shyu Ruey-Shiann, Tao Ya-Lun, Lin Jiun-Ting, Tseng Wei-Hao, Luxury Logico, Wu Chi-Tsung, Wu Shu-Min, and Fujiko Nakaya. They are all exceptional artists working in the field of new media art, and in this exhibition, they will simulate whimsical visual arenas and create special reactions for time in the exhibition space. In the endless realm of imagination, nostalgic sentiments of ancient literati’s life in nature are reconstructed, and an attempt is made to transform new visual experiments into personal life experiences and aesthetic styles, as a new expression of aestheticism is thus formed.
